boom! zap! pow!

     capes.  masks.  gloves.  imagination.  creativity.  and loads of energy.  i imagine your house is full of all of this too!  each morning i wake up to see 'who' my 4 year old will be.  who he will battle.  who he will save.  i am all too often the villain in these games, and that's okay.  once or twice i got to be a good guy.  helping to defend the world from injustice and crime.  sometimes i get to have a light-saber.  sometimes.  

     the days of superhero dress up will eventually be less and less.  the real world awaits.  the capes and masks and gloves and shields will no longer be strewn all over my home.  nothing like a 'ride' on a captain america shield to get the blood going in the morning.  my guys will be too big and too busy trying to survive in the world, let alone save it.  but i will have the images i captured.  images of their imagination at work.  their energy being expanded as they run, jump, battle, and laugh.  images that i can show them and point out how they still maintain the qualities of every great superhero: 

 loyalty.  courage.  strength.  honor.  determination.

     

     recently i put out a call to round up a few superheros for a top secret mission.   i was so thrilled with the response.  and more so, thrilled by the fantastic time i had with them!  so now the mission is complete...

     i am so very excited to offer a special session to capture the superhero(s) that allow you occupy their fortress of solitude.  these sessions are a chance for your child to play.  to be active.  to use their imagination to save the world.  

and if you happen to have a little girl who prefers gowns to capes, no need to worry.  something royal is in the works!

          alice is in my top 5 of favorite literary characters.  how can she not?  she is full of adventure, imagination and extremely curious.  but she also is a great symbol of how we live out our life, or should try to.  be up for adventure.  and what greater adventure can life bring you, but the arrival of a sweet baby!

a little person that will be your white rabbit - taking you on many an adventure, looking at the world with wonder and a curiosity that you may have pushed aside as adulthood takes over.  

          right before our family vacation i had the sweetest session with an adorable baby girl, alice.  and her equally adorable, and proud, big sister.  the lighting was great and the girls were relaxed.  a dream session!

life. a four-letter word.

          life.  the four-letter word that just happens.  every.  single.  day.   with the best intentions of starting this blog 6 months ago, well maybe 8 but who's counting, life has happened.  a beautiful, messy, chaotic, blessed beyond words life.  the intentions of a new form of communication have always been on my 'to do' list.  as is that huge pile of laundry, but it doesn't always happen to get done in a timely manner.  with the summer slowing down and the start of school on the horizon, i feel this is the time.  life isn't going to slow down.  life will not wait for me.  life needs to be grabbed and captured, as long as i can run fast enough to keep up.  

          so, what does this all mean?  it means i am human.  i am far from perfect and i am far from having loads of free time to sit.  to be still.  the goal of this blog is to reach out to my clients, my friends, and my family in a different format.  i have blogged before and loved it.  and hated it.  i will not promise the meaning of life will be revealed to you here, just a sharing of beautiful moments that i am capturing of that four-letter, as it happens.  with that said,  please join me in a few laughs, a few tips, maybe some fun prizes, and a look into life.
